Padding and Shaping

That is the most hard part of our project, to shape Elizabethan looks it is not that easy like I thought, especially if you have a long hair.I choose for my Contemporary portrait - Beyonce look, absolutely love it, a colours, shape, she looks like a queen.

This look I will try recreate it, for my final assessment look, I've been practising in studio with one of my girls in a group, she has a medium long hair, I crimped whole head to get a frizzy look, but the most tricky think is, how to shape them or make a padding. This how it looks, I haven't finished yet, I have to be able shape this in such short time, well practise....

Practising Final Assessment Look- peer exchange

This Week I exchange with Aine final look and start practising at studio, she chose very modern and frizzy look. I had a challenge to do this, because of her very long hair, took me almost 1 hour to crimped and properly brush them, to achieved very frizzy texture.

Historical portrait of Elizabethan

Products which I used:
  • crimper
  • selection clips
  • denman brush
  • pin tail comb
  • pins
  • hairspray
  • pads
  • bands

My work

Definitely I need crimped hair before time- assessment to had enough time to shape them, especially with very long Aine's hair. Padding was the most hard part on the top of head, to avoid padding sides I use band like for pony tail an rolled up underneath , I need it tease them very well to achieved huge volume of hair.

Elizabethan Hairstyles- using padding, curling and frizzing technique

This week we chose an example of historical Elizabethan look, and try to shape them using a rat's application to frizz them

Contemporary portrait

Products which I used:

  • denman brush
  • crimper
  • sectioning clips
  • tail comb brush
  •  pins pads

My work

The heart shape was the most difficult padding for me, to make a hair properly and straight look. Rat's application on the pins on pins wasn't so bad and so much difficult, but I need it rehearse this style at home, the most pleasure was make them frizzy by using a pins and crimp.
